A Baltimore Neighborhood Tradition: Family Mini Sessions at Patapsco Valley State Park
There’s something so special about watching a little tradition grow year after year! For the second year in a row, I’ve had the pleasure of photographing a wonderful group of neighbors who come together at this time of year. This year we decided on Patapsco Valley State Park in Baltimore, Maryland, to make sure their families and friends take time for updated photos. Life gets busy, and between work, school, sports, and everything else that fills our calendars, family photos can easily get pushed to the bottom of the to-do list. That’s one of the reasons I love mini sessions! They offer a simple, fun way to capture this season of life without needing to plan a full photography session.
What started as a way for this neighborhood to gather for photos has become a tradition I’m so happy to be part of. I love seeing familiar faces return each year, catching up with families, and meeting the new friends and neighbors who join us along the way. Patapsco Valley State Park makes a beautiful setting for these sessions, giving families a chance to enjoy the outdoors while capturing memories together. It's always a joy to see everyone come together, and I’m so grateful this group has chosen Kristen Jamerson Photography to photograph their neighborhood mini sessions for two years in a row!
One of my favorite parts of being a photographer is getting to know the families I photograph and watching their stories continue to unfold. Being invited back year after year means so much to me. These sessions are about more than just updated pictures. They’re about making time for the people you love, documenting your family as it grows, and creating memories you’ll be glad to look back on years from now.
To this amazing group of neighbors, thank you for welcoming me back and making me part of your tradition! I love seeing familiar faces, meeting new families, and capturing these little pieces of your lives. I’m already looking forward to next year! 🥰
A special shoutout goes to the Hale family, who started this wonderful neighborhood tradition! ❤️ I’ve had the joy of photographing them since 2023, and it’s been so sweet getting to watch their family grow and capture memories of them through the years. Angie, with two little ones who aren't so little anymore and a husband by her side, this family has been such a special part of my photography journey. I’m so thankful they brought this idea to life and helped create an opportunity for their neighbors, friends, and families to make time for photos, too. Getting to see them year after year and welcome even more families into the tradition makes these sessions extra special to me!
